'Magnolia' was created after a conversation between Frédéric Malle and Carlos Benaïm; in which they discussed that Magnolia Grandiflora is closer to an Eau de Cologne than it is to a classic flower. To compose this chypre fragrance, Benaïm enhanced the citric balance and added a Haitian Vetiver and Patchouli base for "depth and sensuality."
